6th Grade

27th October 2009

Hey, sorry I haven’t been updating my blog lately. It just slipped my mind. But anyways, let me just get to the topic at hand. As you can see, it says 6th Grade. That is a good indication that this has something to do with 6th Grade. So guess what? I’m in sixth grade. It’s actually pretty easy if you get used to it. well, it is not easy for kindergarteners, no. It is just easy for people who are old enough. I get a lot of projects though.

Fiction Stories

7th April 2009

At school, we just finished up our fiction stories. Mine was about these spies saving stolen monkeys from the evil scientist. Now I can’t just get enough. I started making another story called Mix ‘n Match. It’s about a kid, named Pixel, his dad, and some friends. Pixel has to save his mom- with whatever it takes. It’s hard for me to generate new ideas. So, right now, I’m stuck. Wish me luck on a successful new story.

Spelling Bee

4th April 2009

Man, I was so close to winning the Spelling Bee. The COUNTY Spelling Bee. There were 109 kids, and it was hard. I was so nervous. It took place in Tice Gym, in Walnut Creek. First two rounds were LONG written tests. Once you get 4 words wrong, you’re out! The first round, I survived, but a lot were eliminated. Maybe 40-45 were eliminated. Then onto the second round? I have to say, it was a lot harder. Now this is where I fell. I had three words spelled wrong, and then I had to come across a word- cachet. That word I struggled on. I spelled it cache. Close, but no cigar. I went to the sign-out table, and they told me I placed 48 out of the 109. That’s pretty good, eh. My parents said I did a good job. I know I did. But I got all teary-eyed, and that was that.

Snow

15th February 2009

Yesterday we went to the snow. It was awesome! We built forts, went tubing, ate, and my brother went skiing, but ended up getting a ride on the snowmobile. Lucky! We met some friends there. My friend and I, we found a deep hole, but it wasn’t deep enough. So we jumped in the snow trying to make it flat and big. It wan’t big, it was BIG. It wasn’t BIG, it was huge. No! It was HUGE! Really HUGE! No exaggeration there! When we went back into the car, my feet were so cold, I bet 100,000,000,000 blankets wouldn’t warm it!

Late Note

14th January 2009

Sorry I’m late, but a lot’s been going on lately. So here’s a short review. Christmas and New Year’s has passed. Now Martin Luther King’s Jr Day is coming up. He’s the person that made black people free. I acknowledge him for that. Now I’vr read a new series, actually, two new series. One series is called The 39 Clues. I’m still waiting for the 3rd book to come out. I think it’s coming out on March 3rd. I don’t know. I’ll check that later. The other series is Percy Jackson and the Olympians. These are by far, my most favorite books. The last and fifth book, The Last Olympian, is coming out on May 5th, or so I’ve been told. We had our first basketball game. Sadly my team lost 26 to 12. I also want to tell you that the game before, two of my friends played against each other. It was a close game, being 26 to 22. When we just started, two of my friends, who were on the same team, were about midway. I don’t know the score, but’ I’ll find out- sooner or later. Now this is a biggie. I made it into the Geo Bee. And guess what is even more better. I got tied for second with three other people, and had to do a tiebreaker to see who will be the other winner. I just took the Spelling Bee quiz and I hope I make it into that too. Here’s something cool. Do you want to know how many words there are on this entry, total? There are 259 words and counting. Amazing, huh? That’s a lot, huh? Well, that would be the end of this long entry. I hope you enjoyed it…

Basketball

19th December 2008

Basketball is yet another sport I take. You pass, dribble, and shoot. The point is to bounce around the court, then either passing or shooting may earn you points. You have to get as much points as possible. I’m confident my team will do a good job. I’m nervous though. This is my first time taking basketball. Wish me luck!

PowerPoint

30th November 2008

When we were taught how to do PowerPoint at school, I liked it beginning to end. At home, I tried some test runs, and it worked! my friend taught me how to do animations, and it’s so FUN!!! I like to see how the words appear on screen and watch the slide show. I like it so much, I go on it frequently. But when I get on, I can’t think of what to type. So I just did things for fun. You should try it. It’s probably on any of your computers. I bet you will like it… as soon as you understand it.

Something About Me

19th November 2008

Sorry for being late, but in all this rush, I forgot to properly introduce myself. Of course you know my name is Jethro. I’m in 5th grade. My favorite color is purple. I play basketball. I play other sports for fun. My favorite animal is a monkey. And that’s about it.

Sports! Let’s see how many I can name. Basketball, baseball, soccer, football, swimming, volleyball, dancing, sort of, tennis, and gymnastics. The ones I particularly like are baseball, basketball, tennis, soccer, football, swimming, dancing, volleyball, and gymnastics. Oops! That’s all of them! Yup! I love them all. My favorite of them all would have to be between basketball and football. I’m a short, small type and a bit skinny, but for some reason, I love football. I mean I play these sports. All of them. Let me say that one more time: All of them. During some games, I look forward to getting passed to, or making a shot. I’m a good interceptor. I run fast, so when they think someone’s open, they’re not. When they pass to someone, I’ll try to run as fast as I can ( that’s really fast ) to grab the ball before the player can receive the ball. Then I run fast to the other side to try to make a touchdown, a goal or a point.Pretty cool, huh?

Swimming

12th November 2008

For a year and a half now, I’ve been going swimming. It’s very refreshing in the summer, and the water heats up in the winter. My favorite stroke is backstroke. Backstroke is where you lie on your back, kick and propel your arms. My least favorite stroke is breaststroke. I wouldn’t want to bore you with all the details. The other two strokes are freestyle and butterfly. I love swimming! I quit though for basketball
